Water remembers what the body forgets.
Selkie Bathhouse pairs cold-water therapy, saltwater soaking rooms, and slow, hands-on treatments in a bathhouse built into the harbor rock. Come for an hour. Stay for the tide.
We built Selkie around one idea: the body softens fastest in water that changes temperature.
Every visit moves you through a circuit — warm room, cold plunge, steam, rest — the way harbor towns have bathed for generations, before it had a name like "contrast therapy." Nothing here is rushed. Most rituals end in a quiet room with tea and a view of the flats.
Selkie is not a quick-fix spa. We keep our roster of therapists small and our schedule unhurried, so a two-hour ritual actually takes two hours.
The ritual menu
Book one treatment or move through the full circuit. Every ritual includes access to the plunge rooms and saltwater soak before and after.
Hydrotherapy circuit
A guided sequence through hot soak, cold plunge, and dry sauna, closing with a still-water float.
Kelp & clay wrap
A warm mineral wrap using local kelp and glacial clay, followed by a scalp and foot massage.
Deep tide massage
Slow, full-pressure bodywork with warmed stones drawn from the shoreline below the bathhouse.
Cold plunge session
Three timed cold-water intervals with a therapist coaching breath and pace throughout.
Saltwater facial
A mineral-rich facial built for wind-worn skin, ending with a cool jade roll and eye compress.
Steam & rest room
Add-on access to the cedar steam room and the quiet room, with tea service, for any booking.
The Tidewater Ritual
Our full circuit, done properly: three temperature changes, a full-body wrap, a ninety-minute massage, and an hour of quiet by the harbor window. Most guests leave the way the tide leaves the flats — slower than they arrived.

"I've had a lot of massages. I have never had a bathhouse teach me how to breathe in cold water. I left lighter than I've felt in years." — Marguerite T., regular guest since 2023
